It was granted the BID Award for Quality in recognition of its achievements and successes worldwide.

Burj Dubai
Founded in 1902 by Henry C. Turner, this large builder is responsible for the construction of Chase Manhattan Bank, the Madison Square Garden, the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Library and the stadium for the University of Pittsburgh, among many others. But the building Turner will be remembered for, without doubt, is the magnificentBurj Dubai, the tallest skyscraper in the world. Using over 45,000 square metres of reinforced concrete, the thousands of workers employed in the construction managed to reach the promised height: an astonishing 818 metres.

Inside this immense skyscraper will be 30,000 homes and nine hotels, as well as a mall and 3 hectares of parkland.

The government decided to construct the Dubai Tower in order to diversify the economy and boost the service sector, especially tourism. The Burj Dubai, awarded by BID, will also help the city regain its reputation and acquire an international recognition which will lead to an increase in foreign investment.
